Seawall Campground
Seawall is a natural formed seawall located in Acadia National Park on the quiet southwestern side of Mount Desert Island near the entrance to Somes Sound. It is known for its rocky shores and shallow tide pools where you may often see starfish and hermit crabs. Some of the rock is unique in appearance, almost white.
The Seawall Picnic Area is a prime picnicking spot with seaside tables providing beautiful views of Great Cranberry Island.
The Seawall Campground, one of only two camping areas within Acadia National Park land, is situated about 4 miles south of Southwest Harbor on Route 102A in a wooded setting only about a 10 minute walk from the ocean. Showers and camping supplies are close by.
The campground is seasonal and in high demand late July through August. It is on a first come first served basis. No reservations are accepted. There is a maximum of 6 people and one vehicle allowed per site.
The Island Explorer Shuttle Bus has a pickup and drop-off point at the Campground.
