Bar Harbor Crows' Nest Vacation RentalTurtle Cove Cottage is a 2 bedroom cottage tucked back only 40 feet from the water’s edge of Beech Hill Pond with pristine access for swimming, canoeing, kayaking. Located only about nine miles north of Ellsworth in the beautiful town of Otis, you will appreciate its proximity to the the many things Ellsworth has to offer and still be within an easy driving distance of the wonders of Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island as well as at Schoodic Peninsula on the mainland. You can enjoy wildlife and beautiful sunsets from the fully furnished deck with gas grill. There is a 30 foot dock which is great for fishing or dipping your toes in the water while sipping a glass of wine and watching the sun set over the mountains. In the winter, you can ice fish, snow shoe and ski on the lake and surrounding areas.
 

Kitchen and Dining Area The charming dining area (shown to the right) has a large picture window with a nice view of the yard, dock and water. Meals can be eaten inside this dining area or outside on the deck while you enjoy the same terrific scenery.

Beech Hill Pond covers over 1350 acres and is a high quality cold water sport fishing lake. There is easy access to year round outdoor activities including swimming, sunbathing, boating, canoeing, fishing and lots of quiet! During the fall months, foliage on the lake is spectacular. Turtle Cove is conveniently located one mile from Otis General Store where they serve breakfast and lunch from their deli can be an added bonus for on the run eating or carry out.

The Cottage is approximately 2 miles from the Green Lake National Fish Hatchery (GLNFH) - a large scale, cold water, enhancement facility. It is part of the Maine Fisheries Complex located in Orland, Maine. Green Lake NFH was built in three phases with original construction in 1973, a second phase of construction in 1976, and addition of the water treatment plant in 1978. Tours are available.

Living area The living room (seen to the left) is very cozy. You can curl up on either of the two comfortable couches and watch cable TV or DVD’s or just relax and read a book. Whether you prefer to spend your days soaking up the sun or on the move, Turtle Cove Cottage is a wonderful location. You are half an hour away from Acadia National Park. Some of the activities there include whale watching, deep sea fishing boats, scenic daytime and sunset cruises, puffin and dolphin cruises, kayaking, sailing, canoeing, biking, rock climbing, picnicking. You can walk along ocean beaches and lakes. There are easy to challenging hiking trails in the 150 miles of marked trails and over 50 miles of carriage roads built by John D. Rockefeller or drive along Acadia’s Ocean Drive to see some of the most magnificent views in Maine.

master bedroom There are many places available to dine on the local seafood or you can take a leisurely drive down U.S. Coastal Route 1 to the renown Camden, Rockland area that is filled with wonderful views and shops. You can see the area from the tall tower on the new Penobscot Bridge or visit Fort Knox for some local history. The cottage is half an hour from Bangor and Bar Harbor Airport, as well as Acadia National Park.

Turtle Cove has many stay at home offerings but should you prefer to travel the area we supply maps and brochures for those looking for adventures.

A 50% deposit is due at the time of reservation plus a $350 security deposit. Balance is due 30 days prior to arrival date. In the event of a cancellation, deposits less a booking fee of $50 will be refunded if we are able to re-rent the cottage.
