If your idea of a visit to the Maine Coast includes activities like hiking, canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking, tide pool and beach combing, swimming, bird watching…. or soaking up the sun sitting in a comfy chair reading your favorite novel, you are sure to find plenty to enjoy right here in Seal Cove. This spacious turn of the century shingle style cottage is set with a westerly view overlooking Blue Hill Bay just steps from the water at the head of the cove, with deeded access for kayaking and beachcombing along the inner reaches of Seal Cove.

 

View of the living room The six-room plan includes four bedrooms and two and one half baths, which can comfortably accommodate six. The fully outfitted country kitchen, is generously supplied with dishes, silverware and cookware. The spacious living/dining room features large picture windows with water views and a full view woodstove for warmth and atmosphere on cool Maine evenings.

 

 

 

View of the porchThe easterly deck and westerly porch provide the perfect spots for enjoying the morning sunshine and afternoon breezes. From the front porch are extraordinary views of the cove and magnificent sunsets over Blue Hill Bay. The private setting includes lawn and gardens with a backdrop of wood and meadows. Closeby are some great trails including Acadia Mountain, Seawall, Western Mountain and access to Seal Cove Pond. From the Cottage it is only a few minutes to Southwest Harbor and twenty-five minutes to Bar Harbor. We know you will enjoy the quietude and privacy of the western side of the island.

Policies

To confirm a reservation: Within 2 weeks of making a reservation, a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the rental amount (check or money order) along with a signed lease is required to secure a reservation. A $400  security deposit and final payment is due 2 weeks in advance of arrival.
At departure: Check out is by 11:00 AM. Please notify us if departing early for housekeeping's benefit. Please leave the premises in an orderly condition. Your show of respect for the property while using it is greatly appreciated.
Cancellations: If you need to cancel after confirming, the initial deposit is non-refundable. Failure to make final payment at least 2 weeks in advance of arrival will be cause for termination of the reservation. Refund of any of the final payment will be contingent upon the owner's ability to re-rent the property for the same period. Any deviation from these policies is at owner's discretion.
