Kingsley Harbor House

Located in a quiet neighborhood setting in the town of Southwest Harbor, Kingsley Harbor House is a four bedroom, two bath house that provides a perfect location for enjoying the “Quiet Side” of Mount Desert Island in a comfortable setting with modern conveniences.

Southwest Harbor is a picturesque village with all the ingredients for a great Maine vacation. The town is a gateway to the picturesque Cranberry Islands (ferries depart from Southwest Harbor throughout the day) and is close to the Flying Mountain, Beech Mountain and Acadia Mountain hiking trails of Acadia National Park with views of the outer islands and spectacular Somes Sound. The Seawall portion of Acadia is a pleasant bike ride away and Bass Harbor, with its famous light house and fresh lobster at Thurston's Lobster Pound is a short drive. Kayaking, boating, hiking, bicycling and canoeing are all easily accessible from Southwest Harbor. Boats can be rented at Mansell Boat Rental Company or Manset Yacht Service and Maine State Sea Kayak Guide Service at the end of the road offers wonderful nature kayak trips. For those who prefer warm water swimming to the bracing Maine ocean water, there is access to both Long Pond and Echo Lake swimming areas.

The hustle-bustle of Bar Harbor and the rest of Acadia National Park are also a short drive or ride away on the free Island Explorer. The village of Southwest Harbor, within easy walking distance from the house, provides shops, food markets and fine dining at such restaurants as Sips, Red Sky and Fiddler's Green. A short walk out Clark Point Road leads to the town dock (and Cranberry Isles Ferry landing), Beal's Lobster Pier (pick up fresh lobster, clam chowder and crab rolls) and the Coast Guard Station. A community sailing program with summer memberships offers sailing lessons and use of sailboats. You can have lunch or drinks at the Claremont Hotel with views of Somes Sound.

The house was recently fully renovated and has an open and bright interior with warm colors, comfortable furnishings, and beautiful hardwood floors throughout. The spacious living area is comfortable and inviting. The house is painted with warm, pastel colors and is tastefully decorated. It is located on a residential street and is within easy walking distance of Southwest Harbor attractions.

FIRST FLOOR: Modern and spacious kitchen with new counters and cabinets, track lighting, and a breakfast bar with three stools. All modern appliances and fully equipped for summer living. The open plan includes a dining area with a table for 6 that expands to seat 10 people and a living room with comfortable furniture and a TV. There is a wood burning fireplace for cool evenings. There are two bedrooms, each with trundle beds to sleep 2 in each room and large closets. The bath includes a tub and shower and stackable washer/dryer.

SECOND FLOOR: The master bedroom has a new queen bed and plenty of closet and drawer space. There is an office/sitting room with a desk and TV and queen sofa bed that sleeps 2. Full bath with sit down shower.

DECK: The kitchen opens onto a deck with outdoor furnishings and a gas grill, overlooking a small garden and fenced in yard.
