Cedar Cottage

Our cozy, newly renovated cottage nestled in the woods at the end of Wesley Avenue in Southwest Harbor, Maine is the perfect place to enjoy your Acadia National Park vacation on renowned Mount Desert Island. The cottage is located in a completely private, forested setting. With freshly painted interiors, new bamboo hardwood floors and tastefully furnished throughout, this cottage is cozy, elegant, homey and clean!

We offer a well equipped kitchen that includes an electric range, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster and microwave. And for the inspired baker, we have a full complement of baking equipment. The elegant dining table expands as needed to comfortably seat six or more.

The spacious living room includes an efficient wood stove and two sliding glass doors look out onto the inviting deck where you can enjoy your breakfast, a cocktail or dinner. The deck includes seating and a gas grill for outside summer cooking and entertaining.

Sleeping arrangements include two bedrooms, each with queen size beds, one bedroom with a twin bed and a large sleeping loft/work or play area with two twin beds. The modern bath includes a full tub, shower and electric heat to take the chill out of early mornings in the off-seasons. We supply all linens, towels, blankets and pillows.
 

We provide wireless internet service so you can check your e-mail, get the news and weather, or work if you must. We have found that most cell phones work from this location and so do not provide a landline telephone. There is no TV service but we do have a DVD player and TV set-up for watching movies.

While comfortably secluded down your own long wooded drive, you are just a 5 minute walk to the center of the village of Southwest Harbor where you will find a variety of restaurants ranging from take-out to fine dining, a grocery store, wine shop, a superb library with summer programs for young and old, and many other shops offering gifts, art and clothing. Walk 5 minutes further to visit the harbor and see the sights of a working New England fishing village.

You will find entrances to Acadia National Park all around you and you are just 25 minutes from Bar Harbor by car or 45 minutes on the free, publicly supported Island Explorer Bus Service which leaves from a number of locations in and around the village and covers most of the Island including many of your destinations within Acadia National Park.
