Acadia View Cottage

Acadia View Cottage is located in Trenton, Maine, close to Acadia National Park. You will appreciate the beautiful setting and its close proximity to many of the region's most well-known sights as well as some great off the beaten track treasures. This is an ideal home base from which you can drive to places on Mount Desert Island, the Schoodic Peninsula part of Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, or the commercial center of Ellsworth.

From the full rear deck, enjoy the picturesque sunrises over the ocean with Cadillac Mountain, silhouetted in the distance. Follow the nearby steps that will lead you to a great walking beach. You will know right away that this was the vacation home that you were hoping for.

The master bedroom has a living room and full bathroom which can be closed off for privacy. The main living room is open to the kitchen and dining area and has a DVD player and stereo. The other two bedrooms have a shared bathroom. The full basement has a washer and dryer, plus a ping pong table and dart board. All linens and dishes are supplied with updated appliances plus cable high speed internet.

Ellsworth is the gateway to Acadia National Park and is home to the largest super Walmart on the East Coast. The town also has a well stocked library, L.L.Bean outlet, the Grasshopper Shop and the Maine based Reny's and the famous Marden's. If you have a YMCA membership you can use it at the Ellsworth YMCA.

Eating places are plentiful with the Union River Lobster Pot, Pat's Pizza, Finn's and Jordan's Snack Bar. Trenton also has three lobster pounds that provide fresh clams, lobster and seafood. Also located in Trenton is the Bar Harbor golf course and in Bar Harbor is the Kebo golf course. There are miniature golf courses in both towns.

Acadia View Cottage is just 10 minutes from the Bar Harbor Airport where US Air Express flies daily to Boston, Massachusetts. Bar Harbor and Ellsworth have rental businesses for bikes and kayaks. Brochures are available at the cottage for tours, eating places, and events of the week.
 

From the deck you can see eagles, osprey and seals. Early risers can view a beautiful sunrise and the full deck is great for picnics and barbecues. The cottage is located on a dead end dirt road. Taking the steps from the lawn to the beach at low tide one can collect beautiful shells and starfish. It's a great place to splash no matter whether it's low tide or high.
