Acadia Seaside Cottage

Acadia Seaside Cottage is located on Mount Desert Island, Maine just 1.5 miles from the Acadia National Park Visitor Center and only 400 feet from the ocean, providing access to the shore. Canoes or kayaks can be launched from the cottage.

Located in the coastal section of Bar Harbor known as Hulls Cove, the cottage is conveniently located for visits to downtown Bar Harbor and all of the island sights. Being off the main road in a quiet neighborhood gives the seclusion you want with accessibility to all the activities of Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

 

Stargaze on the deck at night or enjoy coffee in the morning while the sun is coming up. Then, walk to the shoreline to look for seashells and seaglass or to have a picnic and watch the lobster boats and yachts sail by. To the right of the shore is a very private pebble stone beach. When the tide is coming in, the water actually warms up coming over the hot rocks during sunny days.

Mount Desert Island also offers free transportation via the Island Explorer Shuttle Bus that goes all over the island as well as to some mainland areas such as Schoodic Peninsula. The bus will pick you up right by the cottage and bring you back after a day of sightseeing, shopping, or maybe one too many cocktails.

The photo to the left shows the cottage living space with the deck directly outside. This is a very pleasant and comfortable space that you will appreciate after your day of visiting Bar Harbor and other locations on the island. The large windows add to the appeal and give the impression that the room is part of the beautiful surroundings. The room includes a 55 inch LCD flats screen T.V. with Time Warner Cable with WIFI, VCR and DVD players, and books and games for both children and adults. All rooms have fans for your comfort.

 

The photo to the right shows the kitchen area that includes all the amenities such as a radio/cd player, refrigerator, oven, dish-washer, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, blender, lobster-pot, cooking utensils, spices, and more. The cottage also has a washing machine and dryer.

There are two bedrooms. The master bedroom, shown below, has a queen bed and a 26 inch flat screen with Time Warner cable. Bedroom 2 has a double bed. New large windows with shades in both bedrooms for plenty of fresh air. With the sofa bed in the living room, the cottage sleeps a maximum of four people.

 

The one bathroom, with its combination tub/shower, is all new with a new hot water heater with an Endless Supply of Hot Water so you can take a nice long shower and not worry that there won't be enough hot water for the next person. Everyone can take a nice long shower and never run out of hot water.

You will appreciate the beautiful setting and the smell of the ocean air. This is an ideal location to visit all the important sights in Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, or other villages and sights on Mount Desert Island.
